THE TONGUE OF THE LEARNED

1Cor. 2:12 "But as for us, not the spirit of the world have we received, BUT THE SPIRIT WHICH IS OF GOD, THAT WE MIGHT KNOW THE THINGS WHICH BY GOD HAVE BEEN GIVEN IN FAVOR UNTO US."

Bible learning is the result of much study and mental activity. Spirit learning is completely the opposite. To learn from the Spirit-to be taught by the Spirit-the mind has to "shut it's mouth". The Spirit's voice is very quiet and cannot be heard when the mind is running "a mile a minute".

The cacaphony of culture-from now on referred to as "stulture", a new word combining "stultifying" and "culture"- is designed to suppress or hold down the truth which is ONLY spoken by Spirit; Rom. 1:18.

The so called baby boomers; those born at the end of WWII and all those born since that time, have been steeped in stulture; ie, they have been raised in and embraced NOISE and are now so accustomed to it that to them silence is bad-read boring. Without their realizing it they have been conditioned like the old story of the frog in a pot of water over a fire. Present day professing christians are no different.

The mind running to and fro causes the body to do the same. The body's expression of noise is busyness. Today's christian's are busy going and doing and are unable or unwilling to just shut up and BE QUIET. They, like the world they supposedly came out of, have to have noise accompany them wherever they go at home or away. They are continuously "plugged in" to their "electronic umbilical cord". But that's ok (speaking facetiously here), because now it's "christian noise"- "christian" books, "christian" tapes/cd's/dvd's, "christian" rock (religious words accompanied by noise called music), and etc.

They spend much of their time going to various meetings, bible studies, conferences, "ministering", memorizing bible passages, and listening to "christian celebrities", and etc. The Spirit of God is not in any of these things.

There are men who have memorized the entire bible, but it has done them no good, for that ability is a source of pride. When they speak before people and they see he is not reading from the bible, they are amazed and awed. They attribute to such men a greatness which they do not have.

Much reading and studying of the bible-it's doctrines, theology, etc., leads to self righteousness, because it is the accomplishment of one's own effort and not of the Spirit.

Men have exalted the bible today to the place where God never intended. They even argue over which translation is THE Word of God, when none of them is perfect. The bible has become a war zone in a battle of words over meanings, contexts and translations, by literal minded, reason controlled men who have not the Spirit; in fact have replaced the Spirit with a necessity of a so-called degree in higher learning in order-so they say- to understand what the scripture is saying to men in this day. As a matter of fact if anyone comes along and says,"God (or the Spirit) told me such and such", he is branded a freak or kook who belongs in a cult. To these self taught degreed ones, God's Spirit only talked to the ancient ones who were involved in the writing of scripture and doesn't speak to men today in that way since the "canon is closed". So their religious system has effectually shut off the word of the Spirit speaking in and through individuals and in the Assembly today.

The preponderance of the Assembly today walks according to the description of the woman in Rev. 12:1

"And a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman arrayed with the sun and the moon beneath her feet....."

The sun is the natural "light" of this world, which is INTELLECT/REASON and the "moon" beneath her feet means that her walk is a "reflection"(moon=reflected light) of that "light". Her walk shows what her "light" is. She is not walking in the Spirit.

The Spirit of God is in SILENCE because that is the essence of God. Silence is like darkness and as Paul said, "out of darkness light shines", so the word or words which the Spirit speaks, being Light, also comes out of "darkness" or silence.

Ps. 45:1 "The tongue of the learned is the pen of a skillful writer".

Not bible learned, but SPIRIT LEARNED.
